Due to protest from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senators, Upper Chamber on Tuesday stepped down bill on Petroleum Industrial Bill (PIB).


Senator Tayo Alasoadura had started lead debate on PIB when the PDP senators began to complain about non-availability of the lead debate.

Raising point of order, the Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio complained that the bill is very important bill which every members need to study very well before debate on it.

According to him, it is important to give senators more time to go through the bill very well before debate on it.



Responding to the observation, Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki stepped the bill down in order for senators to study the bill.
